Profile of the author, the curator and the foreman
Johann Adolf Hasse (1699-1783), well-known German composer, contemporary of Handel. He worked in Italy, England, Austria and Germany. He was one of the most influential composers of his time.
Luca Guglielmi is a harpsichordist, organist, composer and conductor. He trained with Ton Koopman. Since 1997 he has been a continuist and assistant to Jordi Savall in his ensembles. He has collaborated with Cecilia Bartoli, Barbara Bonney, Philippe Jaroussky, Ottavio Dantone, Paul O’Dette, Katia and Marielle Labèque, Il Giardino Armonico, Ensemble La Fenice, The Rare Fruits Council, Freiburger Barockorchester, OSN Rai (conductors: Jeffrey Tate, Roberto Abbado, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos). He has released more than 50 CDs, including 18 solo titles, in a repertoire ranging from Frescobaldi to Mozart. He is professor of harpsichord at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona.
Raffaele Mellace, professor at the University of Genoa, is the author of the monograph Johann Adolf Hasse, Palermo, L’Epos, 2004.
