Editorial news

A book that focuses on the five intense years Rossini spent in Paris, welcomed as a star by the French cultural and political world of the time: his significant operatic productions (William Tell, The Journey to Reims, Moses in Egypt, Count Ory, The Siege of Corinth, The Lady of the Lake), his relationships with impresarios, singers, conductors, influential politicians, composers, envious colleagues, and his private life.
A slim book, accessible to everyone, written in a dry and pleasant style, agile and concise, almost scientific, complete with synopses of the French operas, a rich and up-to-date bibliography, and very useful indexes of names and cited works.
