L’allestimento. Per Ecuba

8.00

A strong book that does not spare itself in irony and sarcasm on the situation of theatre and art in contemporary Italy.

An extremely topical theme: an actress decides to stage a show, Euripides’ Ecuba, but she has to face the difficulties and inconveniences, the lack of money, space, opportunities, copyright, to the safety rules, to those who offer you visibility… For this reason she does the only thing that can be done in these circumstances: to turn to a writer more desperate than her.

Topic

  • A metatheatre work, it goes beyond the simple theatrical text to tackle the theme of never giving up, because whoever gives up fighting ends up being satisfied with what he already has; a stubborn invitation to pursue one’s dreams, not to abandon the fray when the battle gets tough.
  • A novel divided into two single acts – the second, an adaptation of Euripides’ Ecuba written for the theatre by Francesco Scarrone alone – suitable for all readers, even those who are not experts in Greek theatre.
